There are some oil fields in West-Kurdistan.
I believe Syria produces 350 to 400,000 barrels of oil per day, aprox 150,000 of these are located in West-Kurdistan.
I think it is almost fully discovered yes. Not as much oil as South-Kurdistan (in 2017 SK will produce between 2 - 3 million barrels of oil per day), but 150,000 is a lot too! I mean, Turkey produces only 70,000 barrels a day, so WK alone more than 2 times as much ones it becomes free :).

Kurds’ have the right to demand federal areas: Kurdish Iranian MP

Kurds’ demanding their own federal areas in the Middle East hope to have full rights, said activist and member of the Iranian Komala Kurdish party, Sahar Amiri.

When asked whether analysts are correct to describe Kurds’ calls for federalism as an attempt to declare independence, Amiri replied, “it is not correct.” But she added, “there is nothing wrong,” if Kurds were to come out and announce their desire for secession.

Opposition groups are bound by their common goal which is to continue their pursuit against dictatorial governments and they “will continue to be active and reactive to all the events and developments taking place in the region.”

“No doubt that the Arab Spring is also a Kurdish Spring, because ethnic groups in Middle East who are non-Arabs were able to get their rights in Morocco, Libya, Algeria.”

With the advent of the Arab Spring, the Berbers, North Africa’s original inhabitants, were able to gain some rights which were unprecedented, like recognition of their language. Libya too saw a radio show airing in the Berber language for the first time, after the toppling of strongman Muammar Qaddafi.

Despite Kurds’ sacrifices ─ like what had happened in the 1980s when Saddam Hussein chemically gassed an Iraqi Kurdish town of Halabja ─ Kurds have been able to make some strides, said Amiri.

“Abdul Basit Saidi [recently elected as the new head of the opposition group, Syrian National Council] has become the highest ranking official in the Syrian opposition which shows that our people [Kurds] are able to succeed.”

Kurdish-dominated cities in Syria like Afreen and Kobani in the northern province of Aleppo, and Derek and Amouda cities in the northern eastern province of al-Hasaka were able to retain control of their areas.

At a joint press conference with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, when she was visiting Turkey to discuss the Syrian crisis, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that the Levant country can’t be turned into a haven for Kurdistan’s Workers Party (PKK). Turkey has long fought separatist Kurds and labeled PKK as a terrorist organization.

The parliamentarian who, said foreign powers’ conflicting interests and their proxies in the region have worked against Kurds reaching their aspiration, added: “We have no alliance with foreigners and we have protected the brotherhood we have with the nations we lived with.”

Asked about the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, and how Jalal al-Talabani, was able to become the country’s first Kurdish president, she said that Kurds were able to gain some of their rights before the U.S. invasion.

“Kurds in Iraq and Syria were the initiators against dictatorship and we want our full rights, not short of anything …the federal system can only guarantee that our rights will be kept complete.”

Asked if Kurds in Iran have any common goals with the Iranian Persian opposition, she said: “Persians who are fighting for democracy do not wish to apply democracy to nations such as Kurds, Azeris, Arabs and this goes back to racist reasoning… There is also classist oppression from Persian elite.”

Oppression against Arabs in Syria or Persians in Iran is against individual freedoms but for other non-majority groups such as Kurds it is ethnic and collective, she said. “Persians or Arabs did not lose their freedoms because of their ethnicities.”

Federalism as a strategic option

There are many countries that will be an enemy directly apply the road map, flag, and in one stage of which will be America's own opposition also in the media for the application and implementation of this map, not because of their inability to compete and forced to implement it, but for several reasons, the first of these reasons is the conflict the Arab-Israeli Vtnivha quickly would not be in favor of this project and will be born with the Arabs and who consider Israel's historical enemy to them deep hatred and delusion ancient Israel, the second and probably will generate in the event was to expedite the implementation to the outbreak of war, an unexpected addition to the wars expected collateral, and the word unexpected does not necessarily mean that it is already anticipated, but time, the second reason is the change America or postpone their projects according to the circumstances of the region and time Toaqatha If what has been postpone the point or stage it does not mean it is a break before they are re-update again.

This map is based on a large part of the points that we can not disclose at this stage in this summary but will be presented to the people who will be attending the conference inside the halls of Congress and in international decision-making centers (strategic alliances).

There are three hypotheses for the case of Kurdish in Syria:

1 - To achieve federal direct: There are two possibilities to be achieved immediately, namely:

- First: the division of Syria into several states as a result of the civil war raging between them.

- Second, the NATO intervention as a result the agreement between them and Russia on the federal Alawites as he was before so do not give up the last of independence to keep themselves in the Mediterranean Sea and the region as a strategy for the return of the Soviet Union again.

2 - achieving self-rule: have three cases:

- First: chaos Syrian full and free control of the army of Syria and at the same time form a team fighting Kurd is the PYD team shall be in the initial stage is dominated by the Syrian areas with a Kurdish majority gradually transformed with time to self-rule.

- Second, to impose it, it means the result of negotiations between the politicians who will be their goal in this negotiation is federalism.

- Third, under the government of the decentralization of the autonomy of the regions of one of the most important applications.

3 - the third hypothesis: access to the cultural rights and citizenship and they are many chances for several reasons:

- First: fragmentation and infighting among Kurdish political movement.

- Second, loss of movement between the three political parties can not refuse any request of her Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and jellyfish as well as Arab opposition.

The best solutions to the Kurdish case is the federal per

Of the best solutions to the Kurdish federal state and one of the United Dewar appointed up to the last village in the Kurdish town of Afrin.

Many wonder how this will be achieved there is the intersection of federal and geographic areas in Kurdish (island - fastest - and Afrin).

No intersection between the island and fastest (28 km) and the intersection between the fastest and Afrin (120 km), the appropriate solution is the word of demographic change and incorporate it received more than (60) years in addition to the map that was drawn by the politicians Americans Year (2006), adopted on the principle (20 km) for the benefit of the region small compared to the Great State.

There are other federal and federal means is a union between a federal Vdralitin may differ nationally, socially and religiously, but may share a common interest and are different to the situation and is intended here between Syrian Kurds and the federal Alawites are not applicable except in the rare case.

Enmity between the Kurds and Alevis than a few on the one hand because of Baathist rule in Syria for decades, in March the implementation of all projects of racism against the Kurds and the other reason will be enmity between the Kurds and Sunni Arabs detractors of the range top and Assyrians, Syriacs and all other parties which seek the Kurds to a true partnership with them and with the Assyrians as concept of revolution.

Steps to implement the federal flag

It is no secret that the federal one will suffer from strong opposition if they applied directly to a private Turkish support, country and Saudi Islamist Arabs in addition to the dispersion of the Kurds as Odzna previously.

So you will have a road map and will be the center responsible for the implementation of any stage and divides the application into four basic stages is limited in time, ranging from the beginning of work in which to access and recognition of federalism to about (20 years) and may be done as we mentioned at the beginning of the modern types of Federations and the Syrian situation to (year) by the internal situation of the Syrian and regional and international levels.

- The first stages and features:

1 - the announcement of a transitional government Kordstanih: where it is not geographically specific and are not tossing in geography at that point, and be key components in addition to the Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians and other minorities within the consensual democracy.

More importantly, the three components of the subject:

Kurds: as close to (60%).

Forums: (20%).

Assyrians (Christians): (20%).

And divided the government and its distribution on the basis of consensual democracy is not the real number is in control of the bags and positions, rate, and because the demographic area changed a lot.

If we say that the Kurds of three million, this figure is wrong, simply because there are about one million Kurd divided between Damascus and Homs, Hama and Idlib alone, in addition to displacement, systematic and external policy of Arabization, and this applies to the Assyrians also on the Arabs also that belief Center that the proportion (60% to 20%) proportion of compromise is a balance this percentage is agreed upon until full stability at the time the change will be consensual democracy to real democracy reflect the population and will oversee this process, a competent international organizations.

Place in the beginning of this stage in the formation of the basics of infrastructure on the one hand as well as the implementation of equality plans in place with the rights and duties in addition to a fair distribution of wealth, taking into account (40 years) from the neglect of destination, is also at this stage to form the nucleus of the army, which will protect component of the region and all the people of the region without discrimination as well as the Internal Security Force, which will be responsible for and trained by a competent centers to work in order to maintain the security of equality for developed countries.

At this stage will also be trained cadres on Administration of institutions by the Centers for civil society and government centers and non-governmental organizations will also be supporting this project financially by many competent authorities in the areas of civil society.

Will be the power of youth is the source of power, work and rely on the construction of this phase will be material support parallel depending on the groups and over the construction of all institutions, consisting of institutions in this phase of the core institutions (to be built depending on the powers of public from all the people of the region on merit and ability ) and are tested according to the jurisdiction and on the certificates and courses that they have made and their activity Revolutionary and their history of struggle and this does not mean that the party in the movement flag will have a preference nor the Assyrians in the Organization Assyrian or the Arabs in the Arab parties always depending always on stilts and field experience is evaluated special management by the institutions overseeing the construction of infrastructure and the most important pillars is the revolutionary activity in the time of the revolution does not mean that there will be no errors, but participation and regular meetings and to achieve on the ground of the results will have a basis in recruitment and retention within the central administration, which would manage the phase .

2 - Phase II: is to start serious work with the interim government, the Syrian also to write a constitution commensurate with the fact the decree with the adoption of the idea of a people with a natural right to self-determination.

3 - The third stage: is the transfer of basic institutions and infrastructure to ministries of self-managed as well focus on the economy and its diversity and to attract investments by the laws of the region.

4 - The fourth stage: It is to start by mapping the historical documents as well as to focus on the maps before the First World War and the demographic makeup of the region and on the basis of which will be the first steps of the federal investigation.

Summarize of the article: Syrian Kurdistan Regional Government to be created. These kind of articles should not be tranlsated by google because it will not come out as it, so it is better to read it in arabic. Anyway, the aritcle is like :-\ . Some of the syrians commented that the article is false regarding the steps of implementation. :D Even if it is false, kurds will still demand autonomy in any kind of way. But the article is not very reliable and some points are not in favour of kurds.

Yes, its in their interest because there would be no need to pay the turks a share of the oil for their Ceyhan. This is not only about oil. Kurds then would be able to trade freely with rest of the world.
So Yes, we need that strip of borderland, from Jindires (west of Efrin) to Medditeranean sea, immediately south of Hatay.

they look good except the "face wrapping" which looks unprofessional, wear the proper uniforms that KRG has provided, use kurdistan flag and get rid of those Camanas covering the faces then you will look more awesome.

PKK Leader: Syria has Similar Conditions as Iraq to Create Kurdish Region

Image

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – A former member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) leadership council believes that the success of Kurds in Syria is dependent on agreement among the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and PKK.

Nizamaddin Taj, known as Botan, says there are suitable conditions to obtain achievements in Syrian Kurdistan similar to those in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Botan told Rudaw that the Kurds of Iraq benefited from the American invasion of Iraq by establishing the Kurdistan Region and that the Kurds of Syria will benefit in the same way from the current uprising.

"No other Kurdish region has sacrificed as much as Syrian Kurdistan when it comes to the Kurdish cause,” Botan said. “There are 5,000 PKK martyrs in Syrian Kurdistan. The Kurds of Syria have also supported Barzani's movement with their lives and belongings.”

Despite the small size of Syrian Kurdistan, there are numerous political parties in the region which makes agreement on issues difficult. "The Kurdish political parties are not that different in terms of ideology, but due to their dependence on outside countries they cannot agree,” Botan said.

The PKK has been present in Syrian Kurdistan for over 30 years. The Kurdish Democratic Party (Al Party) was created under the influence of Barzani. Some other political parties are affiliated with the PUK.

“Therefore, an agreement among these parties is dependent on the PUK, KDP and PKK. If the Kurdish political parties in Syrian Kurdistan fail, the blame will be on PUK, KDP and PKK," Botan added.

He also said that the only threat to the unity of the Kurds is a rivalry between the PKK and KDP over seizing control in Syrian Kurdistan.

"Massoud Barzani needs to benefit from past experiences and plan for the future. If he competes with the PKK due to pressure from Turkey or a goal of seizing power quickly in Syrian Kurdistan, then Kurds in general and the KDP in particular will be harmed."

Regarding Syrian Kurdistan's chances of seizing similar opportunities to those of the Iraqi Kurdistan region, Botan said, "The Muslim Brotherhood in Syria is the only party that can seize power after the collapse of Assad, but Israel, the U.S. and Europe are very worried about the Muslim Brotherhood of Syria and believe that they are different than the Muslim Brotherhood groups of Egypt and Tunisia.”

“The world needs a player in Syria that could rival the Sunnis in Syria. The Alawites cannot play this role. Therefore, the Kurds in Syria will become an important partner in the new Syrian state," he added.

Clashes between PKK guerillas and the Turkish Army have been ongoing for three weeks in the Shemzinan region of Turkey. The PKK says that it has started ground attacks and inflicted heavy damages on the Turkish Army.

The PKK has used hit and run tactics against the Turkish Army since 1984. After an increase in members in the 1990s, the PKK attempted to establish its own free zones under the name of the Botan-Badinan government. Since then, the PKK has attempted to launch organized attacks and seize control of certain regions assisted by popular protests, but these attempts have failed. Now the PKK is trying to launch organized attacks in Shemzinan for the second time.

Ahmed Deniz, a foreign relations spokesperson with the PKK, said, "The new military campaign of the PKK started in the Zagros Mountains and is based on a strategy of seizing certain areas and holding their ground."

Deniz said that the PKK is using 23 mm guns in their assault and has prevented Turkish helicopters from supplying their posts with logistic support. "The Turkish Army is unable to use ground routes in many areas of the Zagros Mountains,” he said. “Our goal is to occupy certain areas and keep our guerillas stationed there."

Turkey says that the PKK has received advanced weapons from the Syrian regime and that the PKK is fighting a proxy war for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The PKK denies these claims.

"The clashes in Shemzinan have proven effective in a short period. The morale of the PKK guerillas is high,” Deniz said.

Botan said that the PKK was able to manipulate conflicts among regional countries by obtaining logistical supplies and new strategies. “The PKK has come out from a position of being cornered for so many years,” he said, adding that the political and domestic aspects of the clashes in Shemzinan would benefit the Kurdistan Region.

He added that the conflict would harm the PKK if it went on for too long, and that Kurdish leaders needed to pressure the PKK to stop the confrontations in Shemzinan lest it lose what is has gained so far.

“The suitable conditions for armed struggle in Turkey do not exist anymore. By raising the slogan of the Arab Spring, the PKK will start a Kurdish Spring and remove a big burden from its shoulders," said Botan.
