Well even if no one asked them for their opinion, yet its better to have their agreement.

This is a very nicely written article. A summarize from the article:

"Why did Barzani's government threatened to use military force against the Iraqi army in the event spread on the borders of the province of Nineveh with Syria that this deployment with the exclusive right of the Federal Government? . There are many answers to this question, but it is agreed that the government of Kurdistan has become a regional part of the game for Syria and its role as Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia roles set American-Israelis, and the Kurdistan Regional Government aspires to achieve in the end the following:

1 -Acceptance of the Saudi-Qatari-Turkish Triangle and with the blessing of the Americans and Israelis for the independent Kurdish state in northern Iraq.

3 - Turkish objection to an independent Kurdish state in northern Iraq could be settled by a political agreement giving autonomy to the Kurds of Turkey, and to give a broader role in the regional affairs as well as special privileges to Turkish companies.

4 - Iran's objection has no value in light of these developments because the objection will be solo, but that Iran will itself become a target to raise the internal disturbances which along with its nuclear crisis.

5 - The Kurdistan regional government aspires the same scenario similar to what happened in in Iraq, the imposition of a semi-autonomous Kurdish areas in Syria to develop into an independent Kurdish state combine with the upcoming northern Iraq.

Amer Al-atham "It is not the hate of the Kurds nor the desire to divide Syria, but Syria does not need all this headache, the wounded syria after the fall of Syria will not have the spirit to act or go to war with Syrian Kurds, so it is better to take their land and their residents and join the Kurds in Iraq and peace. "

Why are we in Iraq overlooked this fact and we thought of the dream of national unity with other nation who also fought for an independent state for decades? ."

ERBIL, Aug.11 (AKnews)- A ten-day public campaign for collecting donations and aid in kind for the Syrian Kurds will begin tomorrow in Erbil.

Bozan Mohammed, who chairs Syrian Kurds' Association, said the association has organized the campaign with the support of Erbil governorate and Barzani Charity Foundation as well as some governmental agencies.

Four camps in Sami Abdul-Rahman Park, Shandar Park, Majidi Mall and Family Mall will receive the donations and aid in kind and four fund boxes will be circulated in the mosques and churches for monetary donations.

The collected donations will be sent to the Syrian Kurds through other organizations.

Mohammed added the financial and psychological state of the Syrian Kurds, especially who have become refugees is "very terrible.

"They need help; therefore, I call on all the donors to support us to help them [Syrian Kurds."

Kurdish Refugees Flee Aleppo for Kobane

PostAuthor: brendar » Sat Aug 11, 2012 1:43 pm

ALEPPO, Syria -- More than 300 Kurdish families have fled the violence in Aleppo to take refuge in the neighboring Kurdish town of Kobane.

Liberated from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s forces on the eve of July 19 and now ruled by Kurdish authorities, the town of Kobane in northeast Syria has become a safe haven for those fleeing the constant airstrikes and armed conflict between Assad’s forces and the Free Syria Army (FSA).

On Wednesday, Rudaw saw many families on the motorway to Kobane, fleeing the violence.

A family of seven who arrived at the entrance of the town said they couldn’t bear the permanent airstrikes on Aleppo.

The driver refused to reveal his full name and said he wanted to be identified as “Shilan’s father”. Shilan, his oldest daughter, was killed after becoming a guerrilla fighter several years ago.

He said they were from the Kurdish section of Sheikh Maqsud in Aleppo where no conflict has yet taken place, but the street fight near his neighborhood made him fear for the lives of his children.

“The government’s airstrikes on Aleppo are continuous; the conflict does not stop, day or night, even for 10 minutes,” he said.

The man added, “We also saw many tanks surrounding the city when we were on our way out and, apart from our neighborhood, war is on every other street in the city.”

At the town’s entrance, Shilan’s father met with relatives who were waiting for the family to help them find shelter.

Immediately after they left, another family arrived.

Husain Mohammad Alo, 45, was also looking for relatives at the entrance to Kobane. “In the last month, we have tried to leave Aleppo many times but couldn’t because of the airstrikes,” he said. “The city is being attacked 24/7 and we had to get out because it is on its way to being destroyed completely.”

Earlier, the FSA controlled two exits on the outskirts of Aleppo which allowed civilians to easily get out. But Assad’s forces have now surrounded the city from the outside and fighting is ongoing on all fronts, leading to the closure of both exists.

Alo said Assad’s forces asked the family why they were leaving the city, pretending that everything in Aleppo was normal. The FSA, on the other hand, interrogated them with respect and allowed the family to finally leave the city.

“The FSA did question us but they were respectful. However, the Syrian army was asking why we were leaving the city, and because we were scared we said we were moving house. They were pretending as if nothing was happening in Aleppo,” he said.

Many of the refugees have relatives in Kobane, while others are being supported by Kurdish political activists.

Malak Bozan, a refuge from Aleppo holding her child in her arms at Kobane’s local bazaar, told Rudaw that it is difficult to stay at different houses of relatives every night and think about what has been left behind.

“We have been in Kobane for 20 days now, but I swear to god we feel really uncomfortable and insecure. We stay with our relatives but it is uncomfortable for us and for them. We have left everything behind. Our life in Aleppo is now gone and that is the nightmare we think about every night,” she said.

Until recently, the safest areas in Aleppo were the Kurdish neighborhoods of Sheikh Maqsud, Ashrafiya and parts of Haidariya where Kurds reside and protect their community from violence. However, the conflict between the FSA and Assad’s forces reached the Kurdish neighborhoods on Thursday and now furious fighting is taking place there.

The war in Aleppo between Assad’s forces and FSA is seen as the last battle in the uprising that has been ongoing for a year and a half. Earlier in the week, Assad announced that he was sending 22,000 soldiers to Aleppo and that his government would not give up the city. The FSA sees this as the last stand for Assad’s regime and has all their major battalions congregating in Aleppo.

Traveling from Qamishli to Kobane, one has to pass many checkpoints belonging to Assad’s forces. Normally the trip takes five hours, but this time it took 24 hours in order to avoid the snipers positioned on most government buildings along the way.

In the village of Slwk -- next the notoriously pro-Assad village of Til Abyad -- snipers scoped on us with their lasers, but we managed to exit the village safely.

Since Wednesday, when the families arrived, no one else has come to Kobane. An estimated 2 million civilians are still in Aleppo, faced with the constant armed fighting on their streets and living under daily airstrikes, unable to escape the unpredictable conflict that is shattering the city to the ground.

Syrian Kurdish Parties: Unable to Protect People from Chemical Weapons

Image
DIRK, Western Kurdistan — Kurdish parties in Syria say that if Bashar Assad’s regime uses chemical weapons in the Kurdish areas, they are unable to protect themselves and the civilian population.

In response to a possible military intervention in Syria by the international community, Syrian President Assad said that his country has many kinds of chemical weapons that he would not hesitate to use against foreign troops crossing the borders of his country.

Kurdish parties say they do not expect the Syrian regime to use chemical weapons, but if such an attack was to take place, they have no military capabilities to defend themselves nor can they provide the people with basic necessities to protect themselves.

Mari Mohamad of the Movement for Democratic Communities (TEVDM) and deputy director of Qamishlo House of Nation [with close links to the Democratic Union Party], says, ” It is true that Assad has scared the people with the use of chemical weapons, but it is not clear yet whether he is going to use it or not. But if he was going to, then none of the Kurdish parties are capable of fighting chemical weapons. And, the Kurdish parties have not prepared to face such an attack because basically they do not have the capability to defend themselves.”

Mohamad says that even his party [PYD], which is the most influential Kurdish party in Syria, now, cannot stand against chemical weapon and defend the people of Western Kurdistan.

Mohamad Ismail, who is a politburo member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Syria [Party], agreed that they too are powerless against the use of chemical weapons.

“We too cannot defend ourselves against chemical attack,” he said. “No Kurdish organization is able to fight chemical weapon in Syria. We also have to remember the fact that the Kurdish revolution in Western Kurdistan is a peaceful revolution not an armed one.”

Almost all Kurdish politicians in Syria agree that people’s fear of chemical weapons in Western Kurdistan is legitimate given the brutal history of Assad’s brutal suppression of his own people.

However, they are convinced the international community and the West will not allow such an act to take place.

“Syria has chemical weapons and considering how Assad has used every violent means to stay in power against his own people, he would want to use chemical weapon in his final days, even against the Kurds,” says Dr. Lazgin Mohammad, central committee member of the Democratic Party of Kurds in Syria, stressing his party’s inability to protect the people of Kurdistan in the face of such an attack.

“Since Assad announced he has chemical weapons, the West is watching him,” he says. “On a regional scale Israel is also watching Assad’s military bases that contain chemical weapons. I believe they will stop him before he could use it against the people.”

In the city of Qamishlo there is a growing fear of the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian air force. People openly talk about it on the streets of the city. But political activists say they trust the West and the international community would intervene and stop Assad if the conflict reaches that stage.

Bakhtiar Hassan Rasoul, a well-known activist of the Freedom Party in Qamishlo, who spoke to Rudaw in the hidden backyard of his shop to evade the watchful eyes of the Syrian security forces, said Assad is an unpredictable man and using chemical weapons against his people is very likely.

“Assad is unpredictable and has used extreme violent means to oppress the people of Syria in the past that is why I am talking to you here,” Rasoul said. “So it is normal that people fear the use of chemical weapons by his regime.

Ali Osso, a shop owner on Wahda Street at Qamishlo city centre, pointed to several Syrian soldiers on the pavement opposite his shop and said, “These soldiers have done a lot against us here, and we expect the worst to come from them, including the use of chemical weapons. The Ba’ath party is the same wherever it maybe, they used it against the Kurds in Iraq so they won’t hesitate to use it here too.”

Osso had little faith in the international community to come to the rescue of the Syrian people, saying the international community did not stop the Iraqi regime when it attacked the Kurdish town of Halabja with chemical weapons in 1988.

“Chemical weapon kills in an instant,” Osso said. “It was like that in Halabja when 5000 Kurds died in an instant. So if Assad uses it, all Kurds here will die and the international community won’t be able to do anything because then it will be too late.”
